With the looming threat of an across-the-board 25 percent import tariff from the United States, Canada’s ability to do business with our largest trading partner and closest ally has come into sharp focus.

Now, more than ever, it’s essential to double down on collaboration and partnership to safeguard this vital cross-border relationship. That’s why the Canadian Chamber is leading four high-impact missions to the U.S. in 2025.

These missions will offer Canadian businesses direct access to U.S. policymakers and industry leaders, allowing them to tackle key issues head-on and seize new opportunities for growth.

Critical Minerals | April 28-29, 2025

Join us in Washington, D.C. for important engagement opportunities on critical minerals with North American leaders.

This April, the Canadian Chamber will lead its third U.S. Mission on critical minerals, following a productive inaugural mission to Washington, D.C., in November 2023 and a sequel mission to Denver, Colorado, in October 2024. We are returning to Washington to engage with members of the new U.S. administration at a critical juncture in the Canada-U.S. relationship.

The mission will focus on:

Strengthen Canada-U.S. Trade Relations: Foster closer collaboration with the U.S. to build more integrated North American critical mineral value chains, promoting mutual growth and security.
Cultivate Strategic Dialogues: Facilitate ongoing conversations with U.S. industry groups and leaders to ensure alignment and strengthen cross-border partnerships in critical minerals and related industries.
Raise Awareness of Canada’s Leadership: Reinforce Canada’s role as a global leader within the Mineral Security Partnership (MSP), showcasing its commitment to securing responsible and sustainable mineral supply chains.

PAST: Manufacturing & Supply Chains | March 5-7, 2025

Join us in Washington, D.C. to engage on the importance of manufacturing and supply chains for the Canada-U.S. economies.

This two-day mission is planned in collaboration with the Canadian Chamber’s on-the-ground partners in D.C., including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Embassy of Canada in Washington and the Wilson Centre. It will bring together key American and Canadian stakeholders – including current and former government officials, sector business leaders, premier academics and other political influencers. Together, delegates and special guests will take a close look at the threats currently facing both the manufacturing and transportation sectors, as well as what can be done to safeguard our supply chains and strengthen Canada-U.S. relations.

The mission will focus on:

Enhancing Supply Chain Stability: Focus on improving the resilience of integrated supply chains between Canada and the U.S., ensuring stability amidst economic uncertainty.
Raising Awareness on Tariffs and Trade: Address the impact of President Trump’s proposed tariffs and advocate for fair trade practices under CUSMA.
Strengthening Canada-U.S. Trade Relations: Foster continued dialogue on trade agreements and market access, with an emphasis on CUSMA.
Boosting Innovation and Productivity in Manufacturing: Explore strategies to improve manufacturing productivity by incorporating cutting-edge technologies.

Due to overwhelming interest, this mission has reached maximum capacity. We appreciate your enthusiasm and hope to see you at future events.
Our U.S. missions typically span 1.5 days. We collaborate with local partners to finalize dates, speakers, and venues, while also incorporating additional opportunities as they arise.
Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation. Some meals will be provided, but not all.

Artificial Intelligence | September 16-17 2024

On September 16-17, in New York City, we hosted unique engagements on the future of AI with North American business and political leaders.

As we enter the last stretch of 2024, AI is at the forefront of every meaningful policy discussion across all jurisdictions, both regionally and globally. Whether the conversation pertains to business adoption, trust, productivity, national security, workforce, online safety or energy use, AI is playing an increasingly prominent role. As Canada takes on the G7 presidency in 2025, AI and all its facets are poised to be dominant topics among leading economies.

Yet, for organizations doing business in Canada, the future of regulation remains somewhat uncertain as the AI Act (AIDA) slowly makes its way through Parliament. Meanwhile, AI technologies continue to evolve rapidly, with other countries advancing on different regulatory paths.

That’s why the Canadian Chamber – in partnership with the Consulate General of Canada in New York and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – is convening government officials, policy experts and business leaders from both the U.S. and Canada to explore AI trends, challenges and opportunities within the broader U.S.-Canada relationship, and offer recommendations on how Canada can leverage the G7 presidency to accelerate its economic growth through increased AI adoption.

Critical Minerals | September 11-13, 2024

On September 11-13, 2024, in Colorado we hosted key engagement opportunities with North American political and business leaders on the Canada-U.S. Joint Action Plan on Critical Minerals Collaboration.

A key part of the Canadian Chamber’s broader Canada-U.S. engagement plan, this mission will provide members with an opportunity to delve into policy topics of strategic importance to both countries – especially in the lead up to the 2026 CUSMA review.

As we engage in strategic dialogues and build new partnerships over the three-day mission, our focus extends beyond strengthening economic ties. We will also seek to fortify supply chains that are the backbone of our critical industries. This mission marks another pivotal step towards achieving the ambitious goals of the Joint Action Plan through industry engagement, enhanced information sharing, and bilateral cooperation.

Mission participants will also have full access to the Colorado School of Mines’ annual Critical Minerals Symposium in Golden, Colorado, an event that brings together more than 200 leaders from industry, academia, and government to address a broad range of complex challenges associated with critical minerals. Additionally, delegates will visit the Edgar Experimental Mine, an educational facility in Idaho Springs that allows mining students from CSM to practice their skills.

North American Economic Security | May 1-2, 2024

On May 1 and 2, in collaboration with our Washington, D.C. partners – the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the Canadian Embassy – we held the second of our 2024 missions to Washington, DC.

This mission focused on North American Economic Security in the context of the 2026 CUSMA review, upcoming federal elections in all three of the member countries within the next two years, and the growing geopolitical volatility worldwide. Delegates had an opportunity to engage on the topic of North American economic security as a shared policy objective, with a focus on opportunities for revitalizing economic cooperation between the three countries. The program featured elected officials, policy experts and business leaders from the U.S., Mexico and Canada, who discussed pathways to greater economic integration, business risks and opportunities, and the broader geopolitical context.

On April 2-3, 2024, in Washington, D.C., along with our U.S. partners, we facilitated engagement opportunities with trade and supply chain experts, policymakers, researchers, academia, thought leaders and industry leaders from both countries.

These interactions were designed to foster dialogue, identify key strategies and forge long-lasting relationships in the life sciences space. The focus on collaboration between Canada and the United States united both countries and continued to support the integration of Canada’s life sciences industry into the global supply chain, thereby enhancing our competitiveness and improving our readiness for future health emergencies.
